Tom Clancy’s The Division, the much-anticipated massively-multiplayer online third-person shooter from Ubisoft has been delayed, again.
Well, here we go then folks – an absolute bummer. Ubisoft has announced that its upcoming MMO title Tom Clancy’s The Division has been delayed, pushing it back until 2016.
The publishing giant quietly confirmed the delay in its FY15 results to shareholders this week, stating that the ‘highly anticipated’ open-world title that boasts ‘amazing graphics,’ courtesy of the Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, will now release in time for the fourth quarter of the firms Fiscal Year.
That means Tom Clancy’s The Division will now launch sometime between January 1 and March 31, 2016.
To some, this won’t be surprising news. This isn’t the first time that Tom Clancy’s The Division, which is under development at Ubisoft Massive, Reflections and Red Storm Entertainment, collaboration with additional Ubisoft studios, has been delayed.
Originally announced back in 2013 at Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, it was later confirmed that the title wouldn’t release until at least 2015, with the publisher stating “we are going to release the game when it’s ready.”
There’s little doubt that we’ll see The Division showcased, once again, at Ubisoft’s press conference, during this years Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for short, which runs from June 16 – 18.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is slated for release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. For those who don’t know what the fuss is about (we’ll assume you’ve been living under a rock for the last three years straight) there’s a video below.
