Rockstar Games has promised that 'Red Dead Redemption 2', the sequel to the studios’ 2010 open-world western, will be an “epic experience”.

Rockstar has said that those looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2, the sequel to its 2010 open-world western, should expect an “epic experience” once it arrives on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2017.

The renowned developer has promised that the game “builds upon everything” it has learned about creating video games over the years, through developing blockbuster releases including Max Payne, Manhunt, Bully, LA Noire and – of course – Grand Theft Auto.

The studios’ founder, Sam Houser, has said that the development team is “working hard to push forward” its vision for “interactive entertainment in a truly living world.” And looking at the trailer – released last month – who could deny that they’re on the right track. Red Dead Redemption 2 is already looking stunning.

Upon its release, Red Dead Redemption 2 will thrust players into a “vast and atmospheric world,” through which they will experience an epic tale set in America’s unforgiving heartland. In addition to its single-player campaign, it will also feature a “brand new online multiplayer experience.”

It’s predecessor, Red Dead Redemption, debuted to almost universal acclaim, having sold more than 14 million units since its release in 2010. For many of us here at GizLine, it remains one of our favourite titles of the last generation of consoles.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will release in Autumn 2017 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Much like its predecessor, there’s no word of a potential PC release at this moment.
