'Robinson: The Journey' is an “adventure like no other”, out now exclusively on PlayStation VR.

Crytek has announced that Robinson: The Journey, which it has dubbed as being an “adventure like no other”, is out now on PlayStation VR.

The game is playable on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. It requires the use of PlayStation VR, and is easily one of the most promising Virtual Reality titles.

Described by its developer as a “breathtaking” sci-fi spectacular, Robinson: The Journey combines the power of PS VR and Crytek’s CryEngine technology, in the process, allowing players to step into a world full of “adventure, secrets, and dinosaurs.”

They will take on the role of Robin, a boy stranded in the uncharted territory of Tyson III, as their resourcefulness is put to the test. Stepping into the “heart of the living, breathing VR world they find themselves in,” they will search for survivors of the doomed space voyage.

The Journey features two AI companions, one named Higs, and another, a baby T-Rex named Laika – of whom will assist the player throughout the experience.

There’s sure to be many sceptics when it comes to the potential of Virtual Reality, but experiences such as Crytek’s Robinson: The Journey are sure to make them think twice. It’s this level of quality that should push the technology into the mainstream.

Robinson: The Journey is available now for PlayStation VR, on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. Be sure to catch the trailer and let us know in the comments below as to whether you’ll be picking this one up.
