Netflix and Joe Swanberg explore “the modern maze of love” in first teaser for Easy.

Netflix has sent over the first teaser for Joe Swanberg’s Easy ahead of its debut on the streaming platform later this month. Catch the video above and read on below for what we currently know about the show.

Described as an “anthology series” from Swanberg, the show promises to explore the lives of “diverse Chicago characters as they fumble through the modern maze of love, sex, technology and culture.”

The eight-episode series, of which was written and directed by Swanberg, boasts a star-studded cast that includes Orlando Bloom, Malin Akerman, Jake Johnson, Marc Maron, Dave Franco, Hannibal Buress, Emily Ratajkowski, Michael Chernus, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Aya Cash, Jane Adams, Elizabeth Reaser, and Evan Jonigkeit.

In our opinion, the trailer for this is potentially misleading, with many questioning as to whether it will be an animated series – in the same sense as Netflix’s BoJack Horseman and F Is For Family. However, it’s actually a live-action series, and not an animation. It might not have been in Netflix’s interest to introduce the show in this manner.

Swanberg is perhaps best known for the Drinking Buddies, the 2013 romantic comedy film starring Olivia Wilde, Jake Johnson, Anna Kendrick, and Ron Livingston. It was nominated for ‘Best Film’ at the Mar del Plata Film Festival.

Easy is set to premiere globally on Thursday, September 22. Let us know if you’re excited to check out Netflix’s latest offering. Will this be another smash-hit for the streaming giant? We’ll soon find out.
