Sony announces Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, includes Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End beta access

Sony has announced Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for release this October on PlayStation 4.

The collection will feature Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. All of which will be remastered in 1080p and 60fps with better lighting, textures and models.

In addition, Bluepoint Games who have been tasked with handling the remastered versions, are working on “a range of improvements and additions across all three games”, we’re told.

It would appear that the much-beloved multiplayer component of all three titles will be omitted. Yes, that’s right. Only the single-player campaigns will be on offer. That’s hardly a bad thing, is it, though? It’s the best part of the franchise, after all.

Each game will include brand-new trophies, whilst a Photo Mode will allow players the opportunity to capture their most memorable moments and share them with the community at large.

Those who pre-order ahead of its release will receive the Nathan Drake Pack, which includes single-player skins of iconic Drake outfits, along with everyone’s favourite weapons: the Golden AK-47 and Golden 92FS. Those who pre-order from the PlayStation Store will also receive a dynamic PS4 theme.

If that wasn’t enough, Sony and Naughty Dog have confirmed that those who purchase Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PS4 will be granted access to the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End beta. Oh boy, oh boy!

Since its debut on PlayStation 3 with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, the franchise from Naughty Dog has managed to sell upwards of 21 million units. The latest instalment, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is scheduled for release in 2016 exclusively on PS4.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is scheduled for release on October 9 in the United Kingdom exclusively for PlayStation 4.
