TV From Sky app available now on Microsoft Xbox One, arriving in time for Sky’s “big winter line up”.

Are you a Sky Go Extra or Sky Multiscreen subscriber? Yes? Then, good news! Microsoft has announced that the long-awaited TV From Sky app is available now on Xbox One in the UK.

The app, available to download now from Xbox Live, will provide access to live Sky television and on demand content, including Sky Box Sets, such as The Knick, Sons of Anarchy, and Hannibal.

In addition, Sky Go Extra customers with a Sky Movies subscription can choose from more than 1,000 movies, of which are available to stream instantly, at no additional cost.

Similarly, those with an active subscription to the Sky Sports pack will be able to watch the Barclays Premier League, William Hill World Darts Championship and England’s tour of South Africa live on the console.

“We’re really excited to add Xbox One to our line-up of supported devices. Xbox One customers can now watch the latest from Sky TV with our big winter line up including The Last Panthers, Fungus The Bogeyman and Scandal – there’s something for everyone to enjoy” adds Luke Bradley-Jones, Brand Director, Sky TV.

We’ve yet to download the app, as of yet. However, we’re expecting that its very similar to that of the TV From Sky app, of which is available on a number of other platforms – and has been for some time now – including PlayStation 4.

On a personal note, you’d think, what with the app still being “one of the most popular” on Xbox 360, according to UK Marketing Director for Xbox, Harvey Eagle, that both Sky and Microsoft would have been eager to have made this available much earlier. But, I digress.
