Open-world The Tomorrow Children lets players battle against towering beasts that arrive from the Void.

In the off chance that you missed it during the influx of coverage from E3 earlier last week, Sony and Q-Games have released a new trailer for The Tomorrow Children.

The game is set in the wake of an experiment gone wrong, leading to the destruction of most of humanity. Those left alive must unite and begin to rebuild civilization. Though, it won’t be easy, their endeavours are hampered by a giant race of beasts known as the Izverg that have sprung forth from the Void.

It will be up to players to develop projection clones, a new form of lifeform capable of venturing deep into the Void in search of preserved human DNA.

Key features of The Tomorrow Children, the forthcoming open-world post-apocalyptic title include:

  • Choose your character class and travel into the Void in search of resources, building materials and trapped human souls that can be reinstated using a special machine
  • Work together with your comrades in a persistent world, obtaining supplies, creating objects, fighting enemies and establishing new settlements
  • Make paths through the Void, discovering islands where valuable assets can be obtained, but watch out for the Izverg that lurk around every corner…
  • Develop towns from small communes to fortified cities, defending them from Izverg attack, and building new facilities
  • Improve your character, develop your skills and boost your status on your own personal mission to rebuild the world – for the glory of all!

The Tomorrow Children is scheduled for release exclusively on PlayStation 4 this year. Be sure to catch the video below.
