Square Enix debuts gameplay trailer for the next instalment into Hitman franchise.

Square Enix has put out the first gameplay trailer for Io-Interactive’s Hitman, the next installment into the long-running assassination franchise.

The assassination target in the video is Viktor Novikov, a Russian billionaire and one of the ringleaders of an enigmatic spy ring called IAGO. It showcases the amount of freedom players have to tackle each mission in the way they want.

Hitman is a “live and ever-expanding world of assignation”, that is set to arrive digitally ahead of its retail release this December. The experience will “grow, deeper and evolve over time,” as players perform contracts in a variety of exotic locations around the world.

Its developer is completely doing away with the notion of a Season Pass, instead offering the entire experience for the entry price and not a penny more. That means, all updates and content additions to Hitman will be released for free.

The game was officially announced at Sony’s E3 2015 press conference last week, where they debuted the first cinematic trailer for the title.

It is the sixth installment into the Hitman franchise, following on from 2012’s Hitman: Absolution, which failed to meet Square Enix’s sales projects, managing to sell 3.2 million copies.

Hitman is scheduled to be made available on December 8 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Be sure to catch the video below. Stay tuned to GizLine for future updates, trailers and screenshots pertaining to the release of Hitman.
