Rise of the Tomb Raider looks amazing in “Descent Into Legend” trailer, ahead of release this November.

I still remember playing the original Tomb Raider back in 1996. It was, at the time, a masterpiece. To date, it still remains a high point of the franchise for many. Future releases into the Tomb Raider saga were either hit-and-miss, for most.

However, the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider reimagined the series for a new generation – and did it triumphantly. Keeping this in mind, it is an understatement to say that I’m eagerly awaiting the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Today’s new trailer, released by Microsoft, simply backs up my reasoning for this. The story, the gameplay and the visuals. It’s all looking outstanding. Just check the video out below – and see if you don’t agree.

It’s not hard to see why Microsoft decided to pick this one up as a timed exclusive. Yes, despite the fact there’s been a huge amount of controversy surrounding the decision, which will mean it comes to Xbox One and Xbox 360 first, this November, where it will remain as a console-based exclusive for an entire year. That means, it won’t launch until the end of 2016 on PlayStation 4. Though, it will be coming to PC in early 2016.

The game sees Lara travel to the most treacherous and remote regions of Siberia, in search of the Lost City of Kitezh. This ancient and mysterious city holds the secret of immortality. Though, Lara’s not the only one who’s after it. A ruthless organisation known as Trinity is close behind. To ensure it doesn’t enter the wrong hands, Lara must use her wits and survival skills, form new alliances, and ultimately embrace her destiny as the Tomb Raider.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is scheduled to release on November 10 in the United States and November 13 in the United Kingdom for Xbox One and Xbox 360. It will later release on PC and PlayStation 4 in 2016.
