Debut trailer for PlayStation 4 debut of Ratchet & Clank hits, out next spring.

Sony has put out a new trailer for Ratchet & Clank, the upcoming movie tie-in for the beloved PlayStation franchise.

Under development at Insomniac Games, Ratchet & Clank promises to take the series back to its roots. Purportedly, it will be based upon the classic Ratchet & Clank gameplay of the PS2 era. That’s a step in the right direction.

It is being developed alongside the forthcoming motion-picture film of the same name, which is expected to hit cinemas in 2016 and will see Ratchet & Clank battle to save the Solana Galaxy from the evil Chairman Drek.

We’re told to expect “more than an hour of new cinematics” that includes footage from the forthcoming film, whilst it will of course run in 1080p.

  • Ratchet Comes to PS4 – Ratchet & Clank takes a deeper look at the characters’ origin stories and modernizes the original gameplay, featuring new planets, new boss fights, flight sequences, and more – all constructed to take advantage of the power of the PS4.
  • The Gang’s All Here – Romp around the Solana galaxy with the beloved cast of characters – Ratchet, Clank, Captain Qwark and the dastardly Chairman Drek, as well as many brand-new characters to the franchise.
  • New Gameplay, Weapons and Story – Ratchet & Clank combines the signature platform adventure gameplay and humor the franchise is known for with new narrative details, planets, gameplay sequences, bosses and weapons.

The Ratchet and Clank movie will hit cinemas in the United States on April 29, it has been confirmed. Though, there’s no release window as to when it’ll hit in the United Kingdom, as yet.

Ratchet & Clank is scheduled for release exclusively on PlayStation 4 in “spring 2016.” Be sure to catch the video below.
