PC Beta for “live and ever-expanding world” of Hitman begins today and runs through weekend.

Square Enix and Io-Interactive have announced that the PC Beta for Hitman starts from today and runs through the weekend, offering those who’ve pre-ordered the opportunity to dive in and check out the game ahead of its release this March.

Starting today and running through until February 22, the only way to “guarantee” your access into the Hitman beta is to pre-order either the Full Experience or Intro Pack, it has been confirmed.

Dubbed “The Prologue”, the beta takes place twenty years before the Paris Showstopper mission and is set in a secret ICA training facility. It follows Agent 47 during a pivotal moment – his introduction to the ICA and very first meeting with future handler Diana Burnwood. Two free-form training hits will be included, which will introduce players to the features and mechanics of the upcoming game.

Officially revealed during Sony’s E3 2015 press conference, Hitman will be an evolving experience that deepens over time. Offering “huge and intricate sandbox levels”, players will be provided the freedom to approach each assassination the way they choose.

Its developer is claiming to be providing the “full experience” for the entry price and not a penny more, with Io-Interactive promising to make all updates and content additions to the game available for free – ruling out the possibility of paid downloadable content and a season pass in the process.

Originally, Square had lined up a release date of December 8, 2015 for Hitman, but later delayed it until March of this year, stating that the extra development time would allow Io-Interactive to include additional content into the game.

Those who pre-order Hitman ahead of its release will also receive the Requiem pack, which includes access to exclusive in-game digital items inspired by Hitman: Blood Money. These classic items include the Requiem Legacy white suit, Blood Money shirt, tie and gloves, silenced ICA-19 chrome and white rubber duck explosive.

Hitman is scheduled to launch on March 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Be sure to check out the PC Beta trailer below.
