Uncover the secret of immortality in Rise of the Tomb Raider, out this month on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Microsoft have sent over the launch trailer for Crystal Dynamics’ Rise of the Tomb Raider, ahead of its launch this month on Xbox platforms.

The game was previously announced to be a timed-exclusive on consoles, launching first on Microsoft’s Xbox One and Xbox 360, where it will remain for an entire year, before coming to Sony’s PlayStation 4. For those on PC, the wait will be slightly shorter, with the title expected to arrive early next year.

I’ve said it before, but it’s not hard to see why Microsoft decided to take a chance on this one. Yes, timed-exclusives traditionally offer little value. However, for a period of an entire year? That’s a different ballpark. It was certainly one that a lot of people didn’t expect, that’s for sure. Though, looking at the launch trailer – found below – we think this one might pay off in Microsoft’s favour. It’s looking mighty good, to say the least.

The game picks up after the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider, as Lara travels to the most treacherous and remote regions of Siberia, in search of the Lost City of Kitezh. This ancient and mysterious sanctuary might hold the secret of immorality itself. But, a ruthless organization known only as Trinity is close behind. To ensure this power doesn’t fall into the wrong hands, Lara must embrace her destiny as the Tomb Raider.

Earlier in the year, Microsoft released a new video, showcasing the incredible line-up coming to Xbox One throughout the year and into the next. It highlighted the upcoming release of Rise of the Tomb Raider several times.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is scheduled for release on November 13 for Xbox One and Xbox 360. It will be available on PC and PlayStation 4 in 2016.
