Remake of British television series Mad Dogs available now to stream through Amazon Video for Prime subscribers.

The first season of Mad Dogs is available to stream instantly now through Prime on Amazon Video. To celebrate, executive producer Shawn Ryan features in a new trailer, where he discusses the new series, exclusive to Amazon Prime members.

The show follows a group of underachieving 40-something year old friends, as they gather in Belize to celebrate the early retirement of an old friend. Little do they know that a series of wild events are about to begin, exposing dark secrets, deception and even murder.

Though it is described as an Amazon Original Series, it is in fact a remake of a British series of the same name, which originally debuted in 2011 and ran through until 2013, spanning four seasons. Its cast included John Simm, Philip Glenister, Marc Warren and Max Beesley. Rather interestingly, it also starred Ben Chaplin, who has become one of the four prominent cast members in the Amazon series. His original character in the UK series is this time played by Billy Zane – who still reminds me of Arnold Vosloo from The Mummy.

The cast of Amazon’s Mad Dogs includes Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Billy Zane (Twin Peaks), Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club) and Romany Malco (Weeds).

All ten episodes of the first season of Mad Dogs are available to stream instantly on Amazon Video – assuming you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber. Let us know in the comments if you’ve had a chance to see the series yet.
