LEGO Dimensions: Everything you need to know about Team Packs

LEGO Dimensions Team Pack expansions promise some of the most extreme crossovers in video games we’ve ever seen. Available this month.

As part of our series of in-depth guides for LEGO Dimensions, the forthcoming Toys-to-Life title from Warner Bros. Interactive and Traveller’s Tales, we will be taking a look at the Team Packs.

Along with the Level Packs coming to LEGO Dimensions, these Team Packs offer a hefty amount of content for your money. Tentatively priced – it varies depending on store – at $24.99 / £26.99, they will include two minifigures, along with two gadgets or two vehicles – or a mix of the both.

Considering the gadgets and vehicles can be rebuilt, it isn’t terrible value for money when you really think about it. Each vehicle or gadget has two alternative forms – the blueprints of which are unlocked by playing the game itself.

As with Level Pack add-ons, there are currently only 4 Team Packs announced. So, there’s not a huge amount of them. But, we’d expect the developer is already working on producing more for the future – considering all of these will have been released by January of next year.

It is worth keeping in mind that some of the information surrounding some of them is a little light, as of the moment, but what we do know, is included in this list. We will endeavour to maintain it, as further details are released.

So, without further ado, let’s check them out. Read on below and be sure to click images for a larger preview of the content of each pack.

LEGO Dimensions DC Comics Team PackLEGO Dimensions – DC Comics Team Pack

I’m certain this is one of the packs I’ll be picking up. It looks absolutely awesome – even if details are rather scarce, as of the moment. However, what we do know that it will include both The Joker and Harley Quinn in minifigure form – and who doesn’t want that?

They will each come with a vehicle. The Joker will have his helicopter, whilst Harley Quinn will have the Quinn-mobile. There’s no information on what either vehicle will be able to be rebuilt into as of yet.

Similarly, there’s no information on what either The Joker or Harley Quinn’s special abilities will be – but they are bound to have some.

However, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on that front. There’s plenty of time left, considering it won’t hit until January 19 of 2016.

LEGO Dimensions Jurassic World Team PackLEGO Dimensions – Jurassic World Team Pack

Considering the success of Jurassic World, this is undoubtedly going to be a popular Team Pack. It is also includes the second character that will be voiced by Chris Pratt in LEGO Dimensions – the other being Emmet from the LEGO Movie, which will be available as a Fun Pack.

This pack features a minifigure of Owen Grady and an ACU Trooper, along with a Velociraptor and Gyrosphere. Each character has a variety of special abilities to help players overcome obstacles. Owen’s abilities will include Tracking, Stealth, Target and Vine Cut, whilst the ACU Trooper will feature Electricity and Illumination abilities.

When they are in need of back-up, we’re told that the Velociraptor can be rebuilt into a Spike Attack Raptor or Venom Raptor and that the Gyrosphere can be made into a Sonic Beam Gyrosphere or Speed Boost Gyrosphere.

The LEGO Dimensions – Jurassic World Team Pack will be available alongside the launch of the game on September 29.

LEGO Dimensions Ninjago Team PackLEGO Dimensions – Ninjago Team Pack

There’s already four Ninjago Fun Pack add-ons coming to LEGO Dimensions, so it’s a tad surprising to see a Team Pack as well. This pack includes minifigures of Cole and Kai, along with vehicles for them each.

From what we know so far, Cole and Kai will both have special abilities that include Spinjitzu, Acrobat, Stealth and Laser Deflector. Though, Cole will also have Super Strength, we’re told.

Cole’s Boulder Bomber will be able to be rebuilt into the Boulder Blaster or Cyclone Jet, whilst Kai’s Blade Bike will be able to be made into a Flying Fire Bike or Blades of Fire.

I believe there’s better Fun, Team and Level Pack add-ons than this one, so I personally won’t be rushing out to pick it up on November 3 before I’ve collected the others – but I’m sure there’s an audience for it.

LEGO Dimensions Scooby Doo Team PackLEGO Dimensions – Scooby Doo Team Pack

Speaking of more interesting expansion packs, this is one of them. Scooby Doo and LEGO? Count me in! Admittedly, that’s probably because I grew up with Scooby Doo, whereas Ninjago is a bit new to the scene for me.

I know I’d have liked to have seen a Level Pack for Scooby Doo, with an exclusive mission. However, this will make do, for the time being. It includes minifigures of both Scooby Doo and Shaggy. Looking at Scooby, there doesn’t appear to be much articulation in his minifigure – which is a little disappointing, but we’ll hold our judgement until the final piece is in our hands.

We’re told that Scooby’s abilities will include Tracking, Dig, Dive and Stealth, whilst Shaggy will have both Tracking, Stealth and Illumination.

In addition, this Team Pack also features the Mystery Machine and Scooby Snack model. The former of which can be rebuilt into a Mystery Tow & Go and Mystery Monster, whilst the Scooby Scan can be made into a Scooby Fire Snack and Scooby Ghost Snack.

This pack looks like loads of fun, I must admit. Luckily, it’s scheduled to release alongside the launch of LEGO Dimensions on September 29.

When is LEGO Dimensions out?
