Dirty Dancing comes to the New Wimbledon theatre this month, as part of its UK Tour. Runs from September 26 until October 1.

Are you ready to have the time of your life? Best dust of your dancing shoes, as the smash-hit show Dirty Dancing opens at the New Wimbledon Theatre on September 26.

The show, produced by Karl Sydow, Paul Elliot and Joy Entertainment in collaboration with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions brings the classic story to life on stage, in what has been dubbed the “ultimate live experience.”

Theatregoers are in for an evening of passion and romance, with heart-pounding music and “sensationally sexy dancing”, with the record-breaking show promising to be “even better than before”, in this all-new production.

The show follows the story of Baby and Johnny, after two blockbuster West End runs and two successful tours of the United Kingdom, and features classic songs including ‘Hungry Eyes’, ‘Hey! Baby’, ‘Do You Love Me?’, and – of course – ‘(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life’. Want to know more about the show? Read on below for a snippet of its plot.

“It’s the summer of 1963, and 17 year- old Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman is about to learn some major lessons in life as well as a thing or two about dancing. On holiday in New York’s Catskill Mountains with her older sister and parents, she shows little interest in the resort activities, and instead discovers her own entertainment when she stumbles across an all-night dance party at the staff quarters. Mesmerised by the raunchy dance moves and the pounding rhythms, Baby can’t wait to be part of the scene, especially when she catches sight of Johnny Castle the resort dance instructor. Her life is about to change forever as she is thrown in at the deep end as Johnny’s leading lady both on-stage and off, two fiercely independent young spirits from different worlds come together in what will be the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives.”

Dirty Dancing opens at the New Wimbledon Theatre on Monday, September 26 where it will run through until Saturday, October 1, after which it will follow through on its UK Tour – with its next stop being at Manchester’s Palace Theatre. Tickets are available to purchase now through ATG.
