Warner Bros. Interactive and TT Games bring Toys-to-Life with LEGO Dimensions, out now in the United Kingdom.

Warner Bros. Interactive and Traveller’s Tales has announced that LEGO Dimensions, the much anticipated Toys-to-Life video game, is available now in the United Kingdom.

The game, which launched in the United States earlier this week – on September 27 – brings together characters from more than fourteen different franchises including DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, Back to the Future, The Wizard of Oz, Scooby Doo, The Simpsons Jurassic World, Ghostbusters and as announced recently, Doctor Who.

In the all-new story from developer Traveller’s Tales, Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle must travel through a mysterious and powerful vortex, in a bid to save their friends and the multiverse. Along the way they will team up with some of the most unlikely allies in their quest to defeat the evil Lord Vortech.

“This is an entirely new LEGO experience where players can build the physical toys and play with a mash-up of brands in the video game just like they would in real life,” said Jon Burton, Founder and Creative Director, TT Games.

The LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack – out now – includes the LEGO Toy Pad, the bricks necessary to build the LEGO Gateway, as well as Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle minifigures, along with the Batmobile. Though the Starter Pack grants access to worlds from each of the fourteen franchises, the experience can be expanded further by purchasing expansion packs. We previously explored them in-depth in our guide to Fun Pack, Level Pack and Team Pack releases coming to the game at launch and into the next year.

“We wanted to create a game where players can combine their favourite characters and universes and play without restrictions. They can have Scooby-Doo pilot Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet through Cloud Cuckoo Land from The LEGO Movie if they want to. Literally every character can go into any world and use any vehicle or gadget” adds Burton.

LEGO Dimensions is available now on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii U. For those who missed the release of the launch trailer earlier this month, we’ve included it below. Be sure to check it out.
