First multiplayer footage of Call of Duty: Black Ops III debuts at Sony’s E3 2015 press briefing.

Activision has premiered the first multiplayer footage of Call of Duty: Black Ops III at Sony’s E3 2015 press conference.

The game was announced by Activision in May, ahead of this month’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, otherwise known as E3. At which point, they debuted the first trailer.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III takes the beloved first-person franchise 50 years after into the future. Technological advancements have created a world where humans and weaponry combine. In the midst, a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges that blurs the line between the two.

The series, which initially debuted in 2003, has become one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time, exceeding more than $10 billion (£6 billion) in sales worldwide.

Though, last year’s installment into the long-running shooter series, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, from Sledgehammer Games, didn’t meet expectations, with sales down 27% on 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts.

I’m sure that Activision’s remaining positive that Treyarch, who’s handling Call of Duty: Black Ops III, can pick up the slack this time around.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is scheduled for release worldwide on November 6 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
