A Midsummer Night’s Dream in rehearsals ahead of its return to the Lyric Hammersmith on February 19.

The Lyric and Filter Theatre have released rehearsal photos of its forthcoming production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which begins previews on February 19 at the Lyric Hammersmith.

The “riotous reinterpretation” of one of Shakespeare’s most renowned plays tells the classic tale of young lovers and warring fairies. It was last staged at the Lyric Hammersmith in 2012, where it enjoyed a critically acclaimed run.

In what is being called “one of the most exciting Shakespeare productions of recent years”, the play promises to deliver a “unique and irreverent twist” to a much loved classic.

It will star Hammed Animashaun, Jonathan Broadbent, Andrew Buckley, Clare Dunne, Ed Gaughan, John Lightbody, Victoria Moseley, Ferdy Roberts and Cat Simmons. Music will be performed by members of The London Snorkelling Team, whilst the show will be co-directed by Sean Holmes and Stef O’Driscoll.

Rounding out the production team, A Midsummer Night’s Dream will feature design by Hyemi Shin, Lighting Design by Oliver Fenwick and Sound Design and Original Music by Chris Branch and Tom Haines.

The Lyric Hammersmith’s schedule following A Midsummer Night’s Dream includes Pleasure, which runs in May, the return of Bugsy Malone in June through until September, and Aladdin, a brand new panto production which opens in November and runs through until January, 2016.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream begins previews at the Lyric Hammersmith on February 19, where it will run through until March 19. Tickets are available for purchase on the official site, found here.
